TDV8 progress report

Fantastic Thumbs Up

Done nearly 1K miles.

This engine is so good. I'd like it to be a bit sharper on take off from standstill, but a part from that I have no complaints thus far.

Compared to the TDV6 I have found that the traction control kicks in very quickly if you try and power around a roundabout. Probably something to do with the extra weight of the engine block. So I find take it gentle on the roundabouts and floor it on the straight is the best approach.

It's definately a wolf in sheeps clothing and surprises many with its power. So well done LR Thumbs Up TDV6 - gone

I agree with you Josh mine TDV8 has done about 1800miles and I couldn't be happier with it. Power from a standing start is a bit flat but once you get a bit of speed up she really starts to pull away Very Happy RRS TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Mine has done 9,000 miles now without any faults at all. Never been back to the dealer, never used a drop of oil. Power from a standing start is great - or it least it has been since being Turbochipped. And fuel consumption has improved to a long term average of 24mpg (which is actually beter than I was getting in the TDv6). Thumbs Up RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Done 2000 miles now with 500 being with Red Dot ECU up grade, the power from stand still is much better however not getting much more than 20 mpg but I do live on outskirts of London.
Just waiting for power boot opening and rear camera to finish car off. Laughing

probably the wrong place to ask,

but will the TDV8 hold its value better than the TDV6?

also, is Dynamic response any more unreliable than the std Air suspension? ( I only ask coz you have to get this on the VCool

At a guess I would say the TDV8 would hold it's value better but the TDV6 will still be pretty good. As for the Supercharged you might as well light £20 notes for fun - your depreciation will be huge! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Makes a second hand SC great value - particularly if your going to keep it for a few years. 2022 P440e AB
