Rain Sensor Sensitivity

Calling all 'attention to detail' obsessives [like me]...

When I first took delivery of my RRS, I enjoyed exploring every last switch and knob, including the rain sensor sensitivity rotor on the wiper stalk. It worked fine; at one end of the extreme it just had to dribble with rain and the wipers took on fulltime operation, while turning the knob to the other end, meant it had to be a good downpour before I got any level of frequent wipes.

Since the car went in for new front suspension sensors, the adjuster knob has made no difference whatsoever. The wiper sensor now for me is pretty annoying, as there are often times when the rain is just no quite heavy enough to promote the wipers to wipe continuously, but heavy enough for my vision to be obscured inbetween wipes.

Does anyone else's sensor sensitivity switch actually work?? Confused

AFAIK, that rotary knob on the stalk is only to control the delay of the rear window wiper. The front wipers' sensor always had a mind of its own, at least in my car. If there is a way to adjust its sensitivity, I haven't found it. Except for the occasional, mysterious dry wipe during a perfectly sunny day that sometimes startles me, the sensor works OK on my Sport. Then again, it never rains around here. Wink
