It's not a common one but I've seen it a few times, I don't know why it does it, the ECU just "dies", suspesion light comes on ect. Connect IDS to the car and you get ERR### in place of DTC ## which means communication failure, i.e IDS cannot communicate with the ECU to read the fault codes. First thing to check is fuses, then onto power and earth feeds to the ECU, if all these are good then it points to an ECU failure.
