Transmission Fault - Traction Reduced!

When I switch on my RR Sport I get this message. It doesnt happen every time - maybe one in five times.

I phoned my dealer and they said its nothing to worry about (!). I'm not convinced!!

Anyone else had this problem?

specifically, what type of wiring loom problem? is it incorrectly installed, or does it need to be changed completely?

Sorry, there is no "simple answer" to a fault like that... it could be many things. I know two people that have seen this error a few times in perfectly boring weather, but it clears after restart. One RRS S/C and one LR3. And there is nothing logged in the computer afterwards... shades of "bug." If it impacts the actual drive, then I'd be worried.

Transmisson Fault...

I have the same problem. However, it occurs everytime I drive the car - usually right after start up, but once in a while it occurs 5 or 10 minutes after. When it first started occuring, it didn't happen everytime I drive, but more like every 5 times I drive. I brought it to my dealership and they couldn't get the problem to reoccur. Ironically, as soon as I pulled away from the dealership it occured again. They said that there is no way to find out what the fault exactly means without hooking the computor up to the vehicle while the fault is present - this is the only way to trace the code that the fault is sending out. They checked the car out from top to bottom and said mechanically there is nothing wrong and it is ok to drive. As soon as I have a free weekend, I am bringing the car back in with the fault on the screen to get to the bottom of this. If anyone else finds out the source of this problem sooner, let me know.
