If you get lost in the country
And you ask of a local the way

Clear as mud, can't you see, plain as day

Straight ahead half an hour, then right
Where the old cattle yard used to be
And five minutes more, take a left
Near where Bill's young lad hit the tree

Now stick to the track till you come to the fork
And then you have to turn right
Go left, and you'll be in trouble
In the bog where the brindle cow died

You'll know you're OK when you get to the place
Where the schoolhouse burned to the ground
And start counting gates, it's seven or eight
From where they took the fence down

And as you find your way homeward
The question remaining is this
Was he really trying to help you
Or was he just taking the ?
