The local Morrissons has a bio diesel pump which is En590 compliant. The manual states that you can run the RRS on En590 diesel. Has any tried it?
Conversely has anyone got feedback on the 'super' diesel fuels?

Don't know about the Bio stuff but My Brother says he notices a difference on his Disco 3 TDV6 when he uses the "premium" Diesel's. He reckons it's a bit quicker and that the engine runs a lot smoother. I haven't tried it myself yet in my RRS. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I tried a tank of biodiesel when I had my TDV6, it ran ok, filled up with normal diesel about 3 times after that and then, about 2 weeks later, whilst overtaking on the M621, got ENGING FAULT message, revs dropped to Zero - engine cut out - I had to put it into neutral, restart the car, and carry on overtaking!!!! All whilst freewheeling at about 70 - ish
Managed to get it to Rocar Moores Land Rover in Huddersfield, about 15 miles away, having to "restart on the move" about twice more. They plugged it into the computer, the error was caused by restricted fuel flow. So they changed the fuel filter, and all was well, didnt have them the problem again.

Apparently, Biodiesel is a better solvent then mineral diesel, so when you use it, all the gunk, oils, waxes etc, that builds up throughout the enging whilst using mineral diesel, begins to get dissolved and shifted through and ends up clogging the fuel filter.

So if youre going to run on biodiesel only from now on, change the fuel filter a couple of times during your first 1-2000 miles.

ps: I now only use BP Ultimate diesel in the TDV8 and noticed I get about 1-2 mpg more versus regular diesel, not much OK!, also it "seems" a bit more responsive on the good stuff vs the cheaper regular.

I changed to the BP Ultimate diesel with my last RRS and found it ran smoother with slightly better fuel consumption. I understand it burns quicker and cleaner in the engine which has got to be good for it. Will do the same on the new one either BP or the Shell version, which is now more widely available. TDV6 - gone

Is the extra cost of the BP Ultimate fuels actually worth it if it only produces an extra 1 or 2 MPG ?

What other benefits are there? Apart from the obvious Nectar points? Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

For me it just seemed to have more power and ran smoother. Also slight increase in mpg. Also they say it burns cleaner and quicker. So better emmisions unless you drive a cow

Which is exactly what BP/Shell say.

I switched to BP Ultimate as recommended by DOC, not as much smoke now and it does seem to be a little more responsive  some of my Previous cars
