Lugano Teal Ordered

ok, I HAVE JUST PLACED MY ORDER FOR TDV6 HSE WITH DYNAMIC PACK IN LAGANO TEAL. Trouble is i have no idea what it will look like. The swatch in the showroom looks totally differant to the colour on the website. I have 2 weeks to change my mind. Does anyony have any pics of a car in this colour? HELP!

PS: how much is a respray?[quote[/quote]

There's no way you could do a respray. Too costly, not worth it.

Lugano Teal is an odd colour and I'm afraid to say, will be one of those harder to sell on colours, like Maya Gold (Now Atacama Sand). It will end up being a bit like those turquoise blue colours that LR and Jaguar did a few years back. No one wants them second hand.

Dealers will not want to PX the colour in years to come and if you change your mind after your 2 week deadline or cancel your order you're likely to lose your deposit as the dealer knows it will be tough to shift off the forecourt.

If you have ANY doubts at all, you should swap your choice for something more mainstream. I have yet to see a full car in the flesh in this colour, and I reckon I see more than most! I probably see about 60 cars a week on transporters from the factory and have yet to see a Lugano Teal.

Tough choice, let us know what you do. I would love to be proved wrong! L319 D4 HSE

A third party respray will be much cheaper than having the LR bodyshop and should be the same quality as they'll use the OEM paints anyway (at least all the independent bodyshops I've ever dealt with do). Byron's right though, if you're already thinking of resprays maybe you should just change the order to Black or Silver now and be done with it Wink It's an expensive way to see if you like a colour...

I'm new to the forum, and have been trying to paste a photo of a Lugano Teal Sport to my message without luck!! I have (I believe) managed to put a couple of photo's in a photo album in the Gallery. I found the pictures on a dealerships website in the Netherlands. What does everyone think??

My personal opinion is that it seems more conservative than everyone feared - maybe the stronger blues / greens / metallic flecks only come out in stronger sunlight

The pictures posted in the gallery looks a lot like Cairns Blue (Discovery 3)

I know it's only off the LR site!

And here it is lightened a bit - I think it will look more like this.

Many thanks for all your advise and the pictures. It does look more conservative than i thought, i think it will glow a little more in the sun though.
Bye the way, i was actually joking about the respray Very Happy . Think the colour will stay though, i am getting rid of a silver D3 for this car so need a change of colour.

ive added one more photo of it to my gallery...

I went into one of my local dealerships at the weekend to ask whether I could look at an actual example (as its now been out a couple of months), only to be told that they had tried to order some cars in Lugano Teal, but Land Rover had told them they couldn't??!! No reason given - think you can guage the quality of the salesman I talked to by the fact he didnt even know the colour existed!

No surprise... it's a funny business with these "unusual" colours. In my experience of other marques, the dealers won't order them as speculative stock as they know there's a lower chance of selling them to passing buyers and don't want them hanging around taking up space on the balance sheet. I agree though that as soon as the colours go on the options list, they should at least get decent size colour panels out there for buyers to see.

Well, iv'e lost my bottle, the pics of the real life Lugano Teal looks a bit drab. So iv'e played safe and gone with Java Black. If the colour was the same as the one on the LR website i would have stuck with it but it isnt even close. I suspect the LR website man is colour blind.
Why do they insist on making colour choice a lottery?

Thanks for your pics and input. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Brookey - welcome to RRSPORT and many thanks for the Lugano Teal photos - looks like a very dark greeny-blue? Looks smart, but nothing like the LR web site pictures! Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!
