The wife is now a little concerned.........she thinks I am pregnant.

I am apparently displaying 'nesting' tendancies in anticipation of the new addition to the family.
New gates for the drive, upgrading the Garage doors to electric roller type (car won't actualy fit at the moment due to the protruding mechanism of the up and over doors) , also deciding what colour to paint the walls as well as consideration of painting the concrete floor with a nice Bonatti Grey (sorry, just Grey) garage floor paint!! Currently: Carbon Black 535d

Dont paint the garage floor - I have done this many times before and it always ends up looking patchy after a while. I have sealed the concrete before hand & applied many good coats - but despite all the correct preparation it still peels off when a hot tyre ( summer ) is left to stand and adheres to the paint Evil or Very Mad

Best advice

Do as I have done ( luckily brother in law is a tiler ) Get your garage floor tiled. I used a grey speccled GRANITE tile - tough as hell - my garage will take two vehicles and cost £300 to do ( materials ) as labour was free Smile

This also included a tiled kickback/skirting

ST - your wife should meet mine! I painted the floor of the garage, put nice shelves up, rearranged the rubbish and started labeling things. You are not alone. Very Happy 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I also had to swap the up and over garage doors for fully automatic roller versions in a nice green colour!

I decided against painting the concrete garage floor though as when the car is wet and drips on the floor, you can easily slip on the water as it sits there for ages. I have had this experience in other people's garages and it put me off ever doing it myself. If my car drips water in my garage the conrete floor just soaks it up, no danger of any accidents! L319 D4 HSE

My brother in law (tiler ) shopped around all the retailers he knew to locate someone with an excess of tiles from a previous big job ( ie when they do hotels etc ) found some nice pale grey granite ones - perfect, I have done this now in the last 2 properties I have owned & both were double car garages that have immediate access to the inner/house so the tiled floor helped reduce "muck/dust" that would usually have been brought in via the garage.

Example tile
