Rental Cars............

Just picked up an Avis rental Vectra to drive to Southampton tomorrow - it is a 1.9CDti SRI Automatic. Nice car shame about the rattly old oil burner engine. Nice smooth autobox, but it appears to be an old fashioned 5 speeder with tiptronic. Fuel consumption is a better than my RRS but isn't THAT much more - the instantaneous on the computer samples far too often and one minute you are doing 19mpg then 999.99! It doesn't appear to do average mpg. The boot is an amazing size and has swallowed my two massive suitcases with ease without folding the rear seats (but my RRS would have swallowed them too. There are 3 things thing I don't like about it - the suspension is SOOOOOO hard, the view in the rear view mirror is like looking through a very narrow letterbox and the thing is so low that RRS's tower above it making me feel very vulnerable, and I'm going to have a very painful left arm as there as the centre cubbybox padded lid is in a stupidly far back position. Oh well I suppose oit will have to do for a day, but I wouldn't want to own one thank you!

Late entry! Sussed out the trip computer - in the 17miles to home the ave cons is 44.9 mpg. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Belgium 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

The 2.2 tdi is even better, I had the estate SRI (think it was a T150) as a company car a couple of years ago and it went like the proverbial ... for a diseasel. I drove it from London to John o' Groats a few times but like all such cars they all blend one into another, Ive driven many many Vectras over the years Shocked

I think I prefer the view over the tops of the hedgerows from any Landy to looking at the underside of a trailer though! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
