Struggled to start my RRS

Left my RRS standing for three days this week, hopped in this morning and had 30 miles left on the fuel range, started the engine, and it struggled to start up.. was making that starting noise on the starter motor for about 10 seconds, then it sprang into life. As i selected reverse it cut out again but started up perfectly the second time, i revved it up to 3 and held it there for a while to warm up the engine a tad, then went on my way, was a bit shaky but now seems fine its warmed up a bit. Drove my usual 10 miles or so to work and im hoping its just because its -3 today and its been standing since monday.

Left it for 4 weeks back in November and it started up with no worries first time when i gto back off my holiday. Hoping it was just because of the temp.. just out of curiosity how long has anyone else left the RRS standing for and have u had trouble starting it?

The longest mine has ever been left without driving has been about 5 days - no problem at all starting after that. In times gone by you often used to hear of people complain about diesel trouble in the cold weather, but I assume there are now additives in modern diesel fuel to stop cold weather issues.

I dont think its the fuel - I too have strange moments at start up esp. when its very cold - these moments seem to have improved since I had the replacement battery though.

My sport has always started well for me, but my partner has had problems when finishing her early shift.
The car has been back for this and the dealer said it was down to the new telephone mast near her place of work that had just been erected. Shocked Shocked Rolling Eyes Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Yeah right - I live very close to a telephone mast I may have produced a child with 2 heads but I've had no electrical problems with the RRS. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

There was a WDS patch the other day with some new RRsport SC tunes, one of which was too cure cold starting problems for cars in hot weather climates.

Oviously this is not for your sport but some new software might help, there have been a few new software lvls for sports since they came out, yours is almost certainly not running the newest software atm.

My car was due to go in next week to have this issue looked at actually Kam, turns out it will have to wait as work has got in the way, but on a cold day when I turn the key, it sounds like it won't catch, even if I release the key from the starting position the engine continues to try and catch and always does, but it's not a good look. L319 D4 HSE

Guys, did anyone ever get a resolution to this issue?

Mine has just started with exactly the same issue but only when it has been stood for a couple of days.....

Was thinking battery or alternator? Newbie
