Portugal 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
MY2008 TDV8

Hi all,
Just collected my RRS TDV8 as a replacement for my recently sold TDV6. According to the chassis number it is MY 2008 - it was built mid-May.
Impressions after 800 miles - seems to be much better screwed together than my MY2006 TDV6, has a much more solid feel to it, although I do not know how much this is to do with the Dynamic Drive. Brembo brakes seem to be better.
The interior has a black centre dash and the double stitching on the doors, plus metal hinges for the center armrest, but there are no S/S sill plates and there is no little rubber mat in front of the SATNAV screen!?
Finally, I can confirm that the phone book loads via Bluetooth, so that you have the phone address book displayed, received, missed and made call lists. Incoming calls display caller's name on the screen. Of course, this is no more (slightly less) than my last BMW did 2 years ago!
The engine is, I must admit (even after 2 BMW535Ds), a complete gem. Very smooth but with a nice V8 thrum when you give it a bit of throttle. The torque characteristics are simply brilliant. The fuel consumption so far has been the same as the TDV6, even with the tight engine.
Final question: can you fit snowchains on the standard TDV8 20" wheels?
At the moment very pleased with the car.
Very Happy

Nice one John... and thanks for confirming the PTI point - as you probably saw that was being discussed yesterday without the availability of a TDV8 to test on! Wink

I think snow chains would trash your wheels. I invested in some good winter tyres which performed well in the toughest of conditions.

I saw some look alike sill plates for the D3 and they would engrave whatever you want for about £7 - not as good quality as Tasmod's but I hate to say cheaper. You could get RRSport.co.uk engraved on them. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.
