Canada 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zambezi Silver

Back to the subject topic,

I was working on fitting a radar detector the other day and after two hours with the door open and turning the ignition on and off many times, the battery was completely drained and would not start the car.

On my old series 2 RR if I was away for a month, the battery was dead upon return. The current drain was about 1 amp with nothing on! (same if I was clothed) This happened twice; I thereafter disconnected the battery if the vehicle was going to sit for a month or more. (Of course the alarm doesn't work, and it's a bit irritating to have to re-set the windows etc.)

For what it's worth my advice is to disconnect the battery for an extended sit. If you don't (perhaps because you have to have the alarm on for as long as possible) then have some booster cables handy (or a battery charger). .
.
Come for a visit, Victoria is beautiful!

Alan when you leave your car for a period of time do you drop the suspension into access mode???because that puts the car into hibernation mode some of my Previous cars

I'm not sure it was in the manual... there's a fair wodge of info that doesn't seem to have found it into the manual by all means. One of the reasons why this forum is great - we're a constantly evolving appendix to the manual Wink

With the key in the ignition, various ECUs are all powered up and drawing over 20 amps so thats how you flattened your battery.
