SUPERCHARGER or TDV8 ???

Hi need some advice please not sure to go for the TDV8 or the Supercharger doing approx 900 miles per month at present averaging 18mpg in my car which is affordable, anyone knows what is the realistic mpg for the Supercharger is it as low as 8-9 mpg town driving as a dealer told me today and is the TDV8 20mpg town. Planning on test driving both on same day but no dealer seems to have both TDV8 & Supercharger available for test drive at same time.
Also can anyone recommend a decent dealership in or around London or tell me any dealership to stay away from. Any idea how much I can knock off the rrp price on the Supercharger or TDV8. Also wife prefers Cayenne should I even bother test driving that or not .Please someone let me know

Cheers!

Welcome FA

not to sure what the mpg is on the S/C but have read on here that its about 12 mpg, but my TDV8 is returning 20 at the moment but it is still new and not bedded in yet so i hope it will improve.

You wont get any discount off a TDV8 from a dealer as they are still in demand at the moment but i would think you might get a discount on an S/C

cant help with dealers down there but someone will come on and give you a name or two

After driving the RRS the Cayenne wont even come close Thumbs Up some of my Previous cars

Go for a TDV8. By the way, Im now selling my 3 month old one, as ive decided to leave this tax hell hole and go and live in Aus. Advertised in several places, even slapped it on Fleabay. PM me if youd like more info, or a view.

TDv8 = 23.3 mpg and £400 a month depreciation and more torque than you can shake a stick at Razz

S/C = 12 mpg and £1,200 a month depreciation and a lot of torque, but 15% less than a TDv8 yet costs almost £5k more to buy Shocked

Now is that really such a tough decision Question RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

The smart money is on the TDV8.... unless you have a company fuel card and an insatiable appetite for the sound of a petrol V8, I really can't see a reason to buy the SC over the TDV8. At least test drive the Cayenne.... it's Censored ing ugly, but a much better on-road drive than the RRS imho. However, the RRS has a nicer interior and technically speaking is better offroad. If the Cayenne hadn't hit all the branches when it fell out the ugly tree, it would be a contender - but as an overall package the RRS wins out.

Good luck Thumbs Up

There is only one plus point for buying an S/C over a TDv8 - You will have a long wait to get hold of a TDv8 due to demand for the TD engines from both Sport and Range Rover models, hence no/ very small discounts on the diesel, LR cannot make enough of them and most are going into the big Rangie 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

True enough... but think of all the money you will have lost in the time it would take for your TDV8 to turn up!
