The trouble with the D3 is that it is ugly. When I came to upgrade from my Disco II I was told in no uncertain terms by SWMBO "There is no way I am travelling in a hearse" - and the number of people I have spoken to who think the same must have affected the sales to some extent. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

My humble opinion is that D3 is very colour sensitive - yes it looks like a hearse in any of the darker colours and even Stornoway/Bonatti but it looks good in Zermatt and lighter colours - also privacy glass makes it look worse when combined with the darker colours.
One colour that really makes a D3 look huge is White, especially from the front, it looks like there is the tractor unit of an articulated truck bearing down on you. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The D3 is clearly more utilitarian than the RRS and really has a different target market I feel... both are excellent cars in their own right, but obviously LR have both products on their portfolio for a reason Wink

I don't think use by undertakers was one of the reasons for D3 being the shape it is .................... I did consider buying an old Volvo hearse with a high roof line as a brilliant wagon for carting my windsurfing gear around in - add some privacy glass and nobody can see into it but there is more room in a hearse than most light vans! A trailer turned out to be the cheaper and more practical/useful option though! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I occassionally see an old White Ford Zodiac/Zephyr Hearse with surf gear in it around here - they didn't bother to put the privacy glass in! Aparrently it is a classic car now and has featured in several surfing and classic car mags!
Would also make a good overnight camper - I believe that a coffin would be very comfy for a good night's sleep Wouldn't half scare the locals though when the coffin lid lifts in the morning:rolllaugh: 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Macrihanish on the Mull of Kintyre and Thurso are now on the Surfing World Cup Circuit - more reliable waves than Cornwall and Devon apparently! I'm into blasting on flat water rather than wave sailing - I'm not mad/brave enough to be smashing myself or my windsurfing gear like the wave sailors frequently do, I would defo need the hearse for it's original use if I played that game! Unfortunately when the SWC squads come to Scotland they need to bring their fullon winter wetsuits and the Hawiian Tropic girls tend to be rather overdressed compared to when they are in more sunny climes 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I always thought that New Zealanders were a bit odd, but on the Hawiian Tropic website are galleries of their international pagents and here is Miss Hawiian Tropic, New Zealand, 2005................................. very odd

I've heard it been called a lot of things before, but hearse is a new one on me Laughing Shocked Only to the untrained eye, I say.

But seriously, if the D3 is a hearse then the RRS is a drug dealers pimpmobile Wink
