G4 Range Rover in Ellesmere, Shrops

Saw a G4 Range Rover in the distance going round a roundabout, then luckily it came my way. I grabbed my phone and got a vid. Looked fantastic with all the kit, I've seen a G4 Defender on the roads before but never a Range Rover.

BTW the plate on it is very similar to a RRS 'S' I see regularly that is owned by an off road place just down the road, so hopefully I'll start seeing the G4 regularly. 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I stand to be corrected on this but most of the G4 Rangies from the 1st G4 were crushed by LR due to lack of interest and their high cost (£80k was reckoned to be the asking price when they went on the market!!). I was one of the people who had their name on one but there was no way I could afford that sort of money when LR emailed me offering me one - especially for a left hooker.
I was at the LRM Show at Gaydon the year after and on the Mud Club stand we had a replica one that the owner had built from the ground up with parts salvaged from the crushed ones and bits he found on eBay. G4 FFRR's are very very rare and highly collectable on this side of the Atlantic. I think most, if not all G4's are left hookers and sold overseas. BTW the original G4 FFRR's were all based on HSE's so either somebody has shopped on eBay for a badge or they have resprayed a RHD Vogue going by the badges! Would you know if it is a TD6 or a 4.4V8 Andy? The genuine G4 FFRR's are all 4.4V8's which was another reason why they didn't sell like hotcakes here
Unlike the cars from the last G4 which were all sold to dealers at a closed auction, the cars from the 1st G4 were all sold by private sale after expressing an interest to buy a particular model on the LR G4 website at the time. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Tried to do a HPI but it doesn't recognise the plate Sad I think it's probably a 4.4, mainly because when I've seen it drive past it doesn't sound like a diesel. It's a facelifted Range Rover, so must be quite new. Will keep an eye on HPI and it should tell us whether it's a genuine vogue and what engine it has. 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE
