I've noticed that my Sat Nav screen sometimes pulsates - that is to say that it dims and then brightens. It does this whether the lights are on or off and does not seem to have anything to do with the timing of the headlights turning on and/or off. It is somewhat intermittment. Mine has done this once or twice. It often is very bright at night or goes very dim during the day, but generaly it is okay most of the time. Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

Mine has too, only about 3 times in all. I decided it was not worth complaining about unless the screen went pop completely. I guessed it was because of slight voltage drop or something. L319 D4 HSE

I noticed this, basically its dependant on your vehicle speed i think.
If you have the menu screen on with the destination entry/postcode entry thingy, as you know when you speed up, you can't select to add the address, so the screen dims slightly, when you slow down it goes brighter as it will now allow you to input stuff..
Thats what i reckon anyway, anyone else have anr theories? As mine seems to go dim then bright etc all the time too...

Note, there is a light sensor that controls the brightness somewhat if I remember correctly.

It's never irritated me personally.
