My RRS Radio is going nuts!

Dear All,

My RRS is driving me crazy. I burned an MP3 CD the other day.
Placed it inside the drive at position 2 (In position 1 I had a
brand new Audio CD).

While driving and listening to MP3 audio files, the radio would just
flip back to FM station #4 constantly. I press MODE twice to get back
to the MP3 CD. After every few seconds of MP3 playback, the Radio
flips back to the same FM station.

Is that a known bug? Did anyone else face a similar problem. It sure is
annoying!!

That's obviously not right.

Does it only happen when listening to this MP3 CD or does it happen with all CDs?

I am not sure. I've had the car for 1 week now. That's the 1st MP3 CD I test.

Right, but does it happen with normal audio CDs?

Yes it happened while playing the Audi CD in position 1. The radio flipped constantly (every 10-15 seconds) back to the same radio station #4.

Hmm, odd. Haven't heard of that happening before and it doesn't seem like it can be attributed to your MP3 CD, so I'd take the car back to your dealer for them to investigate. Let us know how it goes.

Or unregualted radio TX's on the same frequency - it isn't everywhere that has the strict controls that we have in the UK over the use of radio frequencies. Along the coasts of Dubai and UAE as well as Qatar I know there are several extremely high powered transmitters that cause terrible interference on FM and UHF channels, they are the radio and microwave links out to the offshore rigs and platforms 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I know its of no help as its a different brand of radio but I had a similar fault in my Discovery II fitted with the Landrover SatNav (Becker TrafficPro).

When on CD it would occasionally switch to Capital Radio to play a music track and then switch back - perhaps it was commenting on my CD choice!. I thought this was the radio station playing fast and loose with the RDS switching to promote records so I turned Traffic Programme off and it still did it - it was always on the same place on the road (M4 elevated section) so I presume it was some other signal making it do it.

It would also do the opposite, when listening to the radio it would occasionally play a CD track. But, of course, it would never to it when in the dealers.

In the end I felt it was actually a problem in the steering wheel controls/wiring as the effect was identical to pressing the mode button, and this button never seemed quite right to me as it didn't always work first press. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit
