Choices

Hello everyone i have just joined the forum and would like some advice i want a tdv6 hse and will be ordering before the end of the year.
i have had a test drive and also a lre day driving the superb tdv8 .
my problem is i am a disabled driver and use mobility which now offer the the rrs tdv6 but only the s model.
so i was wondering if i should stay with mobility and order the s model and upgrade to leather and other options as i still get the benefits of free tax, insurance, services and road side assist or should i just order the hse private.

If you qualify for VAT excemption, get the TDv8 HSE, enjoy running it for six months, then sell at a profit of about £3k. That £3k will easily cover your finance cost and probably pay some of the fuel you would use in that time as well.

Thumbs Up

(basic sums are a VAT saving on first purchase of circa £8k. Depreciation on as new VAT inclusive price after 6 months assuming good spec and still a waiting list, circa £5k, "profit" on the deal to you equals £3k. Say you financed £40k, interest charges in six months about £2k) RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Welcome viper

A friend of mine is disabled and he likes to drive around in nice cars, so he uses the disabled benefit to part fund his car, but he doesn't get the same entitlements like insurance, brake down assist on his car as you get with a car through the mobility scheme, but you would get the standard three year warranty and L/R assist and you still get the free tax Thumbs Up so it may be worth going down that route

If it were me and i had it on mobility i would be quite happy with the S model, if you upgrade the trim /spec, it will be money lost when the car is returned at the end of the lease period, but i suppose that is something that you have to decide.

Me personally would go down the route of buying the car, part funding it with the mobility benefit

What ever you decide i am sure that you will be really happy with it, its a superb motor Thumbs Up some of my Previous cars

Thank you for the welcome and quick replies.

Doc the deposit for the rrs tdv6 s is £11775 i would also add extras including privacy glass £350,leather £1400 and the clear view pack £550 and maybe others total £14075 but this includes servicing, roadtax, insurance, recovery, and tyres for three years .

Smarticus i dont qualify for the vat back i am an amputee and have a blue badge but just need an automatic and no other modifications so unfortunately i cant take advantage of the vat free situation.

You might be better to go for an SE which has leather and a few other bits as extras and pay for it yourself part funded by Motorbility........................ reason - when you come to sell an S with leather the stealers will still value it as an S even with factory leather and privacy (not everybody like privacy glass and it's easy enough to take it to a specialist afterward to fit it too). With SE spec you get the leather but you also get the cold weather and a couple of other packs as standard and I can tell you the front and rear seat heaters are really nice in the winter if your car sits outside! I would try to stretch to the SE if I were you. In the S with factory leather you will have to pay extra for the heaters and possibly (I haven't looked at the brochure) for electric controls as well 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
