I have the Pearl and it is rubbish on the bluetooth. Works sometimes doesn't others. I have a 2nd phone in a cradle shich all unanswered calls get diverted to - works well except for people who don't let the divert happen. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

This is a problem with most cars unfortunately..
My new N95 isn't loading up onto my Bmw Bluetooth interface either!! and its hacking me right off..

Used to have this problem in the RS4 too, these bluetooth systems go out of date too quickly, i personally blame the phone companies for changing the bluetooth software all the time! but i may be wrong there..

Kam, your right... however the iPaq is even more annoying than the Blackberry as even HP discontinued it;

My Blackberry out of the box is factory loaded with newer software and cant be rolled back!!!

another person with a bb pearl problem. I had a nightmare getting the pearl to work with the tomtom, much fiddling with the bluetooth settings and a few weeks finally fixed it . The older blackberry worked basically without any mishap, I have noticed sometimes when the pearl is discovered by the tomtom, it reboots and takes ages to come back up, the joys of technology. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Cheers for the input on the Blackberry, had a call from Land Rover yesterday? Saying that they hope to have a new version soon Funny thing is that I have now tried 5 different phones;

1. Blackberry 8100 (Pearl) - can get any earlier sw ver than 4.2.0.64 - came like that! Audio - but no voice control

2. iPaq 6915 - 2yrs old now, nothing, not even pairing - LR say use 6515, HP discontinued 15 months ago!!

3. Samsung X820 - rev 0.3b - according to LR, exact version - pairs, gets audio - BUT NO VOICE CONTROL

4. New Blackberry 8800 - Same result as 8100

5. Blackberry 8700 Rogers - Canadian version - FULL FUNCTION!!!

so my wifes Canadian sourced, Canadian Softwared Blackberry works, but F all else does!

Maybe I can dig out an old monochrome lcd minimal function phone that will no doubt work without any issue!! GONE** RRS 3.0SC Silver fully loaded - 2020 110 loving it

No worries Tim, LR are talking to there TechDev dept I have explained all of it to them and they are baffled...... so we will wait and see!!!

Wokkaman its odd your having problems with the Blackberry Pearl. I've just had my TDV8 now just 2 weeks and also got the new blackberry Pearl (also two weeks ago) and it works well with the RRS. Far better than I expected given all I read on the site. How old is your Pearl?

My Nokia N95 is brilliant ... it pairs with the RRS seemlessly every time. Love it It also works perfectly in Mrs MDP's new TT

exalld thanks for the info.... my pearl is about 4 months old it is using the latest o2 acredited handheld code from thier site. I have borrowed a Nokia 6310i to try (wrong ver of software) and that works fine. Going to get into the engineers menu and see what version of software is shown on the car. wokkaman - my Pearl software version is 4.2.0.61 - if your car is brand new the software on the car should the same so I assume its the Pearly version thats the issue?

LR says the phone needs to be at 4.2.0.51

exalld, very strange.... I am running 4.2.0.64 so slightly newer than yours. It pairs, but the voice activation does not work.... it tries, but then says no handset connected. at some point I am going to check the vehicle software as right now the only phone that truly works is a 6310i with a Jan 06 s/w on it!!! GONE** RRS 3.0SC Silver fully loaded - 2020 110 loving it

A bit of an update..... LR got back to me very quickly!! My RRS is going in on Tuesday to be looked at, it seems that even some of the phones on the "approved" list do not work either.

All seem to be very much hit or miss

I did take the time to explain to the guy from LR, that the concept of someone spending £55k on a car and then finding the oldest Bluetooth phone to work with it, was, in my opinion unlikely to catch on??

I also explained that on the "approved" list the following phones were discontinued;

HP iPaq 6340
HP iPaq 6515c
Motorola v360
A bundle of iMates

Maybe some of the others too..... funny none of the Nokia's though! Nothing to do with Nokia being the makers, or even a Permy Nokia person being at Land Rover sorting future s/w revisions etc
