I have the opticool which I think looks OK - didn't realise it was std?? Also with privacy the drivers windows look clear and the contrast looks odd, IMO, I prefer darkened or tinted but only if all the same down the sides... |

I realised that Tim - my pref is the same level of tinting [legal] along the sides, I just think the contrast either side of the pillar looks like a job half done...

Mine does not have the privacy as it was to late to spec that when I placed the order. My plan was to do aftermarket tinting, but now I'm not sure if I'll do that anylonger. I think it looks just fine as is.

Simple just turn on your Auto Dipping wing mirrors .. Reversing through tight curbs will be a doddle |

And the rear PDC works out to about 1m on each side too, just incase you don't have the dipping wing mirrors (I don't on my SE)! |

I have full tints on the rear and a slightly lighter tint on the front windows, it was already fitted when i got the car, i presume as factory fitted, but mine is an import so the laws might be different in other countries. As for reversing in the dark, or seeing anything behind you, it is nearly impossible, when a car comes up behind you in the dark you cant even make out what it is, which could be a problem if it was the police,as for reversing i try not to in the dark, having said that i will be having it on the new one ![]() -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

FFRR's rear camera is brilliant for this! Don't know how well it works in the dark though.................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Or heaven forbid have an accident or injure someone due to the restricted visibility (which is why it is illegal in the first place in front of the B pillar) - that is why the disclaimer, not because of having the film removed (there was some police action on this in the press a couple of years ago - cars banned until the film removed from memory). I suppose that if you also fit dark tinting film forward of the B post not only are you breaking the law, but you will also be voiding your insurance as doubtless this will not be declared to the insurer, being illegal................... and also you are modifying the vehicle. The insurer has you by the B*lls and will not pay out in the event of an "incident" 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

not sure about this point - my van has next to zero rear visibility as its panelled side and back - of course totally legal - why would having tinted rear windows on the RRS be any different? personally I think the RRS looks odd without tints ![]() |

The reference here in my reply and the quoted post was to the illegal tinting of windows in FRONT of the B pillar ie the front side windows - I assume your van has those made of glass?? ![]() ![]() Simon 2007 2.7HSE 20" Wheels 2005 TDV6 D3 S Auto - Zambezi Silver - JE Tune - RRS 19" - Sidesteps - Roof Rails Body Side Strips - Xenons - Bright Pack - Cold Pack - Premium Stereo Alpine Roof - Towpack - Alpine Touchscreen Satnav - Veba Rear DVD changer Alpine Roof Monitor - Webasto FBH Timer - Brembo Frt & S/C Rr Brakes |
