If you use the compressore a lot (several 10's of times in a couple of minutes) then it will overheat but unless you are into those classic american lowrider cars then I think in normal offroad use the compressor gets far more use keeping the suspension/ car level than you can give it pushing the height adjust button. I remember over on Disco3 one of the Aussie guys reporting in the early days that the compressor overheated a lot in the outback driving on the corrugated road surfaces there 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

In fact, the manual does say to have the car in off road mode prior to jacking it up. Look at the section under J for Jack!.
