Normal TV help

The wife is embarking on a lounge/dinning room renovation and we think the time maybe up for our 20" Sony CRT and technics DVD hifi.

We are looking for a huge screen of about 32" and want a hifi/surround sound system a bit like Bose system in that there isn't much to it but with the lot in for a maximum of £2K. Any ideas? Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

20"? Blimey how can you see it? My PC monitor at home is bigger than that Wink

You can pick up one of the Pioneer Plasmas that Kaine et al were talking about yesterday for about £1200 (and much bigger than 32"), so you should be able to get an acceptable surround system in place for the remaining £800..... but you know who the expert is (not me).

You can get the Sony DAV IS10 system which is a great sounding one with micro speakers and is getting good reviews online for £350'ish

Review here

leaves the rest for a decent TV

Laughing My imac has a 24" screen!! We don't watch much TV so we don't want a cinema screen in the lounge, that is why we only want what compared to fashion is a small screen (big jump for us though!) We don't have Sky or Freeview either, but we do want a telly that will at least give us a good picture and a hifi that will give good sound! Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

In that case you should be able to get plenty of kit for your 2k, probably with change. I used to have one of the older Sony DAV kits - it was pretty good to my untrained ears and good value too.

The guy who sits next to me has just bought the very same thing and he says "Yeah, it's brilliant."
