Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Chawton White
Sunroof operation

Drove into work this morning with the sunroof slid fully open. When I parked and pressed the close button (engine still running) the sunroof slid fully closed only to then immediately slide open half way (not as far back as the first of the open positions). I attempted to close again twice and on each occasion it closed fully only to immediately slide back open to about half way.

I managed to close it by pressing the open button which slid it out to the first of the open positions and then pressed the close button.

It doesn't seem critical at the moment, but i don't want to get to a position where I can't close the sunroof - after all it does rain down under albeit on the odd rare occasion !!! Wink

Has anyone seen this/able to explain what the issue was?

Car is due in for first service on April 4th so if it isn't critical I can get the Stealer to look at it then!

2nd Rower - It sounds like your sunroof one touch close / open feature has lost it's memory. So when closing the motor is putting too much pressure on to the anti trap mechanism along the leading edge, this is why the glass "bounces" back.

It's a simple to repair if you do not want to wait until your dealer visit in April.

Press and keep your finger on the open switch whilst your sunroof opens fully. Keep your finger on the open button for a further 5 - 10 seconds. Then do the same to close, keep your finger on the button until 5 - 10 seconds after the glass is fully closed.

This should reset the memory function.

Good luck. Thumbs Up Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

It's been bucketing down since last night.. Just stopped but more to come in the next three days.. It was 40 degrees C 8 days ago when the GP was in town and I woke to 11 degrees C this morning - caught me by surprise that did, bl**dy cold! Does allow me to go drive the enormous puddles at normal road speed whereas most cars are slowing down Twisted Evil

The State government is already stating that it's not enough to end the drought and that water restrictions remain - typical! Almost as bad as the UK government.... Exclamation I'll get off my soap box now!
