Rip off Britain (And Cyprus!)

A mate of mine who is half scottish/half Cypriot is a golf pro out in Dubai until June.

His girlfriend returned from seeing him and brought back a few Middle Eastern car mags (CAR, EVO etc.) and it has list prices for cars in Dubai:

RRSS S/C = $94,000 (£46,500)
FFRR S/C = $102,180 (£50,580)

Yeah when i was in the US, i checked out the prices of my M3, and guess what:

Starts from: $56,500.

Cost of it here: £50k...

Now... just for cars.. i would be considering to move countries!

Super, told you to move to dubai! we're looking at X5 4.8 IS Sport in Dubai 2006 late, for £26k roughly, and a 2006 S500 LWB for around about the same money! plus the fuel is cheaper then water.. oh and no income tax, bursting property prices and western friendly companies/locals.. so all good..

If it keeps going the way it is in the UK.. tax wise..

Me and good lady ST were just discussing that this week. Cyprus is becoming a bit of a rip off truth be told. Still love it here but everything is either on par with or approaching UK prices (Curse the EU! ) and to be quite honest, sub standard (Don't get me started on broadband again!!!!!) Time to start thinking seriously before laying down a big chunk of cash on a new house, but I think as summer is approaching everything seems a lot better when it's hot and sunny.
