Fab pictures Alfie (ViewWise)! Bow down Just got out of a meeting so have had a couple of pages to go through.

So, anyone want to start a new thread "New Year Meet - North & South descend on the Midlands"?

Then we can start putting a plan in place. Again, we're happy to be misson-control and send out packs etc, and can arrange the convoy from the South. Just need someone up t'North to arrange a convoy down and Kam to look after the bit in the middle? Very Happy

James Thumbs Up

Well, we usually have a midlands meet in Nov time, but its always too damn cold and too dark for everyone's enjoyment, so this year were thinking of having it earlier anyway.. so Early October would prob be better.

Where we go in Cov serve a sunday lunch buffet, which is quite nice and we could probably have most of the restaurant/banqueting hall relatively to ourselves. Is pay per head as well to keep things simple.

They have large car park, good setting, good links to motorway etc and we could do a drive-by of the solihull factory, which is very near my home.

Would have to find out whether we could have a private booking later in the afternoon.
How's this then:

Meet at CHLR around 12pm. Drive up in convoy and stop for lunch somewhere, some pub on outskirts of London convenient for the M1. Go onto Solihull junction of M42, drive by LR Solihull maybe? head down A45 back to Cov, and get there for roughly 5pm grab some dinner, then depart around 7pm and disperse?

The hotel is good if people want to stay over and travel home the following day etc..
Just a proposal at this stage, but think this would be a very good day out!

Kam,

I'd love to be there but if it's early Sept then I'll struggle to get involved with the arrangements as September is our 2nd busiest month and I'm still short of a Jaguar Sales Manager, so looking after both brands.

Fine to use CHPR as a meeting point, but I may be a spread too thin (yea yeah Laughing ) to be able to do all the admin and coordinating etc. Once Sept is out of the way then I'll be back in the land of the living again! Whistle

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Guys cracking photos, what a day it turned into and the weather was so kind to us as well. That has to be the best attended RRSport meet yet! Problem for me now is that I will have clocked up the 10,000th mile by the time I get home Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Just shows how nice the TDv8 is to drive for long distances. It's a GT in the real sense of the phrase - you can cruise all day at high speed and get out of it at the end of the journey not feeling stressed out or aching. Nearly as good as the FFRR at the long distance GT game. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
