06 spec /dynamic question

Hi guys - can anyone tell me if the 06/56 HSEs had dynamic response as standard?

If not is it better to find one with it or without it? what exactly does it do?

Cheers aj

I'm fairly sure it wasn't standard at that stage, unless you had the SC. I had an 06 TDV6 where I paid the extra for the dynamic which was only available as an option to order from about Nov/Dec 05.

Basically stops the traditional roll associated with large heavy 4x4s going around bends or being driven with spirit. Does by applying pressure with hydraulic rams on the anti roll bars when the pc detects lean. System disengages if you offroad when you select low range to allow full articulation.

I'm sure someone can give you a more techy answer.

Is it worth it? Yes I think so, though you may have to live with what LR call a "characteristic clunk" as the ram moves. But its not present on all cars. But it does do a fantastic job of keeping the handling sporty Thumbs Up TDV6 - gone

Thanks guys!

Iv read about the clunk problem and was thinking about looking for a car without DR but that sporty handling sounds like it would add alot to the car.

I guess ill have to listen carefully for it on the test drive.

Is it true that there is a fix for the knocking?
(Any other thoughts on whether dynamic is worth the potential knocking- would be appreciated...)

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

AJ, if you have access to the vehicle then look at the engine compartment.
If this vehicle is equipped with DR, then it will have the Dynamic Response reservoir as per #7 here..

LR seem to have sunk into this acceptance that it's "normal". Which kind of makes it sound like the DR-equipped cars that don't suffer from it are the ones that should be complaining Wink

A lot of folks have resolved it (at least for a while) by replacing the antiroll arms and bushes but it doesn't seem an exact science. Someone mentioned a while ago that LR were looking to re-engineer the part so it doesn't clunk... not sure where they are with that.
