I dropped the engine in on Tuesday at JE Engineering. It was a tight fit, but it went in without a hitch.

I'm going to rub it down to a satin brushed finish and then polish in the twin stripes and meatballs.

When I've saved up some more money (and brownie points) I may then get it painted...Guardsman Blue with White stripes of course Thumbs Up

It's a genuine 1967 Ford 427 "side-oiler. It's 7-litre V8 and these engines were originally developed for the Mk.II GT40 for long distance endurance racing. It will develop around 510-520bhp. Should be good for a sub 4 second 0-60 Twisted Evil

It's probably somewhat heavier than it looks. The finished car will weigh about 1 tonne and the chassis is very stiff so shouldn't have any problem coping with the torque.
The brakes 4-piston monobloc calipers with vented discs at the front with smaller versions of the same at the rear.

I'm looking forward to the spring Cool

Paul - I envy the feelings of excitement you must get from this project - I built a Raw Striker 5 years ago and although it took me years to do I enjoyed every minute - nothing on the scale of your project, but still a great feeling to build something special like that
