One for anyone living in Dubai..

I know we have a few members over in the UAE.
Due to continued growing business for us in Dubai, my father is finding himself going back and forth, the traffic is so bad, and finding a cab can sometimes take hours, my father has basically said sod it.. we'll just get a car there.

I've driven over there last year when me Misery and Jaymann were on holiday there, and its a doddle provided you haven't got Misery sitting beside you navigating! hehe Wink

But looking at the cars there, its a completely different ball game, we're thinking of spending around £20k so 150,000 Dirhams, and been looking around:

Looking at a Bmw X5 4.8is Sport / Mercedes S500 around 2006 model for that kind of money.
My friend over there told me to buy a Landcruiser Amazon, 4.2 Petrol, as they are dirt cheap over there, but im unsure. We've got somewhere to park it, and friends to take care of it while we're not there, but anyone point me in the right direction for websites/reliable used traders to buy from. Bit of a minefield but i can't believe how cheap they are in comparison to here!! rip off britain once again..

Try contacting Gambba over over on Freel2.com, he lives there and might be able to help as he has just bought a FL2.

Wow... that's some difference. And what with fuel being silly cheap - you could get something very meaty for very little cost. No surprise I suppose Rolling Eyes

Thanks guys..
Yeah was about £15.. was weird, because when i pulled up, i said to the tour guy, any idea how much this will cost, he said i don't know i don't drive here, and i was like Censored .. do i have enough DHS, and will they take £'s..!! luckily for me, the saying that bottle of water costs more then bottle of fuel really was the case, and i had well enough Dirhams to see me on my way! brilliant country..

Don't even know what litre that engine was or anything.. it was ok though wasnt it.. apart from when John threw it against that barrier and took out all them cones.. should not have trusted him to drive a LHD.. he's bad enough in the UK!!
