Had a strange phone call this week

I have been asked to trial the new touchscreen software for the RRS which will replace the existing setup in the MY09 cars (apparently).

Information wise, all I can say at the moment is that there is an integrated IPhone / IPod section that displays the album art, shows the trackname, etc etc and offers the ability to flip through the phone / pod for entries / albums....all of this being part of the touchscreen interface

AT LAST!!! I currently have the genuine LR module in the car for the IPhone, as fitted to the LR2 / Freeloader and its rubbish, with a capital R. A truly messy system with no integration whatsoever!

I will update when I know more, but it is due to be fitted within the next 3 weeks and is part of a 3 month trial.

Well, finally!
I am really happy with my RRS: almost nothing that I can say “don’t like”. One thing, that I am sure they have to improve, it is the nav system. If I compeer the nav interface between my FL2 (LR2) and my RRS, it is much better on my FL2, The RRS has more 4x4 nav options and info, but the interface is ugly, complicate and so far from a friendly interface. So, is good news to see that they are working on that!! Yuri

I had seen a prototype a couple of years back at a LRNA event here, it looked almost exactly like the Macromedia interface that eventually made its way on the new Jaguars XK and XF. It would be a big improvement if they went with that UI:

Not really... I'm assuming that the Touchscreen trial is happening in his own RSS - that means on current hardware.... Unless i missed something.

I am assuming existing hardware, but only when they fit, will I be able to shed any light.
