Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White
Toyota Land Cruiser 200

well its hit the Aussie shores http://www.toyota.com.au/toyota/vehicle/Ga..._3,00.html and to be honest if looks very fugly IMHO .. not sure if these are rear seats or two squashed R2D2's http://www.toyota.com.au/toyota/vehicle/Ga..._9,00.html

Toyota is an icon out here, very sturdy and seen as very reliable for the outback/bush. The equivalent to the TDv8 comes in somewhat cheaper, but no real equivalent to the TDv6.. not doubt it will be going out of local showrooms in droves. Interesting to see they have stayed with the live axle for the rear. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

if it is like the out-going 100 series model then it may have the option for a live front axle too. Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

It will be interesting to see how this new Landcruiser rates with the "real" 4x4 guys. The D3, RRS and FFRR tended to get caned out here for having too many electronics and for being too complex to repair when out in the bush.

The new Landcruiser is getting up there now as well Smile

Also interesting to note that the new Landcruiser Sahara (top of the range for those off shore) is only $2K cheaper than the TDV8. Hmmmm Confused Landcruiser or TDV8???

No choice really Thumbs Up Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

Hey Zilch,

Yep it has indeed turned up, and I have to agree with every-one else on the forum who has driven the TDV8 - it is a very impressive piece of kit. I have to keep reminding myself of three things:

1) Three tonne
2) Diesel
3) Truck (I know I am going to get in trouble for this comment)

Especially when it is quicker on some of the roads around home than the BMW Coupe it replaced.

Look forward to seeing the pics from the Great Ocean Road Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

WD are you meeting Ivery over the crimbo/New Year period, i am heading down to Melbourne around the 27th for the Great Ocean Road trip and heading back from Coonawarra on the 2nd, I have to drop people off in Melbourne. Not sure how far you are away from my route plan back to Sydney, could pop in for a nice cup of tea and a chat Rolling with laughter or a beer and a general oz and pom discussion, you know sport, weather, why we are invading your shores in greater numbers Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Hi Zilch,

Nothing planned with Ivery over that period (yet). A quick look at the members map with give you an idea where I am. I am guessing it would be a bit of a detour for you. We don't tend to see many Sydney folk in these parts in Summer, moreso during winter when that cold white stuff falls from the sky. If you do end up this way - you are more than welcome to drop in. Just a white TDV8 with a few extras
