Terrain setting dial

Has anybody else experienced problems with the terrain dial? On picking up RRS a couple of months ago the dealer, on showing me the full range of options noticed it didnt retract or push down once the driving option had been selected. As I understand it this "locks it in position" He wasnt happy with it and immediately arragned for it to be rectified. However after encountering snow in the Lakes at Chrismas and using it for the first time since it once again will not push down and retract:? I know it doesn't affect the operation but vlearly it shouldn't happen?

I am jsut about to ring the dealer again but would be intersted in any other experiences.

Hmm... physical problem with the actual dial I assume. For the benefit of us all, please let us know how you get on with it and what the dealer does to rectify.

I had a similar issue which led to my one return to the dealer, before taking delivery the ashtray lid wouldn't close and they booked me in to have it rectified.

On picking up the vehicle, i got in and noticed that the prat that had put the dash back in place had made a complete pigs ear of it! where the dial is, it wouldn't pop out, and the plastic was literally lifted up at the back behind the dial and i could get my finger in and shake the whole thing. The tray opener slider thing was also now very tight but the damn ashtray was fixed at least.

Had a shouting session with the service techie bloke who seemed to think this was perfectly normal and as long as the ashtray worked it was fine. We drove the car round into the garage and the service manager agreed with me and said it wasn't right. He then ordered a new one in, and i popped back in one morning before work and it took them about 20 mins to fit a new one (ok so i've been back twice, but it was for the same thing so doesn't count in my book!). Its now perfect, dial works properly, slider is sweet and so is ashtray lid. (i put my phone in it, hence the over active use of this feature), and has remained as such in the 6 months i've had the car.

So my advice, get it booked in and get a new bit of dashboard plastic, something isn't right.
