Which model?

First post so a big hello to everyone.

I'm looking to get a RRS but need help on the engine, TDV8 or V8SC?

I've never been a fan of diesels but the looking at residuals the TDV8 looks better.

Any idea which direction to take?

Welcome to the forum!! Thumbs Up

Bow down TDV8, you will be a FAN!
Better torque, fuel consumption, pretty competitive vs. SC. Yuri

SC fast and fun but will cost! i think you'll get around 12MPG.

TD just a bit slower, wont cost as much to run as the SC and you'll get around 22MPG (i'm guessing here) RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

TDV8's will also be worth a lot more 3 years down the line and a heap easier to sell too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sensible money on the TDV8, but if running cost is irrelevant then SC! Thumbs Up

Thanks for the tips guys.

I've been out in the TDV6 and although it pulled fine for the weight of the vehicle I found when your coasting upto a roundabout then find all is clear to pull off, there seems to be a hesitation before the power kicks in. Does this happen on the TDV8 also, my dealer can't get me a TDV8 to drive.

there is a slight hesitation when pulling away and then you are leaping down the road, you do have to think about it when pulling out.
ecconomy wise 9.1l/100km (31mpg) is not too bad for a TDV8 Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Be interesting to see how this pans out over time... I reckon this will be down to low 20s in a few weeks. Others have said their first few days has produced unusually high mpg too...
