Voice dialing revisited

Since posing questions about my TDV8 MY07's erratic voice dialing, I have had the car's software updated to the latest version available in Denmark, I have had my Nokia 6230i updated to the latest firmware and tried it both in the cradle and via bluetooth, and finally I have tried using an older Nokia 6100 in the cradle. Nothing seems to help.

When I start the car in the morning, voice dialing works fine. If I stop at a petrol station, or the bakery for a few minutes, get back in the car...and try voice dialing, I get a voice respone "no handset connected". All the while I am able to dial manually. If I stop the car for a longer period of time, allowing the car to reset itself, or if I reset the car by using the key manually under the door handle, voice dialing is again possible. Surely this is not the way life is meant to be.

Is there anyone out there in RRS land with similar experience and perhaps even better, a solution?

Hopefuily?
Ted

I had a 6230 when I had my RRS and managed to "break" the robustness of the PTI when I upgraded my 6230 to the latest firmware of the time. The phone list says that a particular version of the firmware is supported "best"... I agree though that the PTI could be a lot better than it is so that these sorts of problems don't occur.

Voice Dialing Update

It seems that someone in the Land Rover technical department stumbled across my voice dialing problem and has instructed my dealer to change the voice module. It is now on it's way from the UK to Denmark. Watch this space!

The latest in voice dialing

The dealer changed the voice control module yesterday. It made absolutely no difference. No solution. Back to the drawing board.
