Guava in Guildford

....anyone have any experience of these people?

They appear on the dealer list on the LR website as an approved repairer and appear to charge half what Hunters do for a FL1 service. I'm always a bit wary of using independents whilst still in warranty.

Thoughts?

I know people that have used them, they aren't independents as such, they just don't sell cars!

They do sell cars but for export only I think Confused went for a wander around their forecourt a few weeks ago, lots of LR's labelled for use in far flung places. Was closed so I didn't get to talk to anyone but it looked like a decent enough place

Last year I did a FFRR day shooting at Loosley park, one of the bods on the day seem to suggest that in time they would be selling cars (export only doesn't count Razz )

So the FL has gone in for it's service today and was chatting to the chap in there. It's laid out just as your average LR dealer would be, the thing which makes them different is that they don't have a franchise for selling new cars - that is left to Hunters (to mess up). They do export sales and second hand... in fact, had a nice TD6 Vogue in there for 28k.

HOWEVER, they do have the world's worst loan car.... a W reg Rover 45 with all the plasticky "wood" bits in it. What are they thinking? Laughing Possibly one of the worst handling cars I've driven in a long time Shocked It's like the front wheels aren't actually connected to the steering.... Rolling with laughter

Will let you know how much it's cost when I go to get it later on.

There is nothing wrong with guava, I know a few people that work there. They know their stuff.

Garages would give out decent loan cars if customers didn't abuse them. Loan cars get wrecked because people don't give a Censored . Most have the "well its not mine............" attitude. I no longer work for Stratstone land rover cardiff. Thank f**K!!!

Can understand that Thumbs Up Just a bit of shock that's all... hadn't seen such a crap loan car in a long time from a franchise dealer Very Happy Just noticed re-reading this that I said I would report back on how much it cost... I forget now actually, but believe it was about £250 (including a new set of pads all around). Excellent price and excellent service - would very much recommend.
