Just had a surveyor at the house and he has come out from Glasgow via Stirling and says the M8/M9 is pretty bad in places and the A83 AKA the Rest and Be Thankful which is quite close to the sea in places but reaches 300m at the summit is closed by 2 coaches stuck in the snow, they haven't slipped off the road, and they are side by side so no traffic can get passed...... this I find amazing becuase buses just do not overtake on that hill unless one was already stopped in the snow!
