... then you shouldn't do a Smarticus Family holiday in The Lakes. Days start early with a Mountain Bike ride with the Lads before the wife and kids have emerged from their cocoons (and on occassions this event is swapped out with a green laning trip in the Landy) A sarnie making phase then ensues including checking all rucsacs have required kit on board We then head for the hills and merrily stomp up, along and down something challenging (usually involving a swim in a river or tarn on the return leg) Returning to the cottage the Lads peel off to the pub for some detailed and very necessary chat about tomorrows bike ride (or green lane trip) and hill walk (lubricating the chat with a couple of pints of XB) Then back to the cottage for tea or a trip to a local restaurant That's my idea of a blissful holiday RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini Disco 4 TDv6 HSE Ipanema Defender 90, 200tdi CSW |
