For Sale: Spider RRS / D3 TDV6 tuning box! | |
Only used for 2 days, have been offered an ECU upgrade at cost, so have decided to opt for that instead. This little box of tricks is very impressive indeed. As stated, only used for 2 days, but it made a hell of a difference.
Not quite as easy to fit as the website states, but was all finished in just under an hour.
For general info and power gain info goto: www.dieseltuning.co.uk
Item is also listed on eBAY: Item#: eBay Item No. 190134966931 - PayPal accepted
Retails at £375.00
Currently on offer via Ebay for £325.00
BIN at £295.00 - an absolute bargain!!.
Well under half price of many of the ECU upgrades and with less hassle. Plug it in and go, no more remapped remaps when your car goes in for servicing. I have the convenience of living no more than 2 miles from the ECU upgrade provider, otherwise I would stick with the box. ECU remaps are great, undetectable, but not unremovable by LR when they re-flash the system. Save the inconvenience of having to get it remapped AGAIN and just plug your box back in after the service. What could be easier.
Apologies if this sounds like a corny Sky shopping channel advert, it is not intended to be so, just want a quick sale.

No harm in being cynical. As that observer, I would ask the same questions and more.
The difference was definately low-mid range, nothing changed top end by my estimation. Now we are not talking speed gains here, it was, again my estimation, purely torque and seemed to flatten out some of the flat spots, which as standard are hideous and in my opinion damn right dangerous!
What I would say is, the box is a good fix if you are looking for a particular fix to a problem, i.e. more tugging power and no speed gains. If you are looking for an overall solution, then go for a remap which will give you the better torque and possible speed gains, dependant on individual provider claims.
They seem to have sold quite a few of these boxes est. 2400+, so it has to offer some improvement, one would hope and pray that your hard earned pounds buys you something these days (of use) !
