Just What are the TDV8 08 Changes

According to my chassis number my car is a 08 model. I ordered the car in Nov, so was expecting a 07 model, then i had what seems to be the normal delay on the car being built. I was then told the car would be ready for collection on 26 Jun and because of the delay it has fallen into the 08 make. But i can not see the difference. Can anyone give me an easy indicator to tell me my new car is really an 08 model.
Thanks.

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Easiest way to tell 08 model is if the centre consul is black. Up to 08 they are dark grey. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Yep - double-stitched leather on the door cards... there is a published list. As Kaine says, the search function is always useful for... er... searching Rolling Eyes

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

If you've got 237 in the middle of the chassis number it's 07 and if it's 238 then it's 08. Changes are...........

Stainless sill plates
Brighter metalwork (well some of it is plastic) on dash. Steering Wheel trims, TR knob, glove box catch etc etc
Double-stitched door cards, unless gone for wood.
Default stock cars have Straight grained Walnut, but can go for no wood or Zebrano wood as a no cost.
Slightly dirrerent LCD display on binnacle (changed 06 to 07 and then again 07 to 08 )

Apart from that and that LR seem to have gone back to green logo's in the wheels (have been black for quite some time on all 20" wheels (not just SC)).

Hope this helps? Wink

It's official I am a geek! Embarassed TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

I have heard that quite a few 08MY cars didn't get the sill plates but they are listed as a standard fitment to the TDV8 08MY Confused

Is “Lined Oak” still going to be available as an option ??

There’s something in the back of my mind telling me I read somewhere that it’s gone from the list on 08’s.

The brighter trim work combined with the black centre consul trim, is really nice BTW Cool

Does that mean no more Tasmods for us ? Sad

I also see that that TDV8 comes with a brighter front grill & side vents ala S/C albeit with a green badge Thumbs Up

Edited to Add:…. I’ve just opened my eyes & found that Zebrano is a black wood finish like Lined Oak Wink

The LR sill plates still aren't as good as the Tasmods (i.e. no rolled edge).

Mmmmm typical !

But if we get sill plates as standard then we probably won't be able to use Tasmods excellent sills Confused

Are the LR sills accross the range or only on certain models ?
