2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

It might have been a beauty but I rmember them flying at airshows when I was a kid and the engine noise and vibration on the ground that they created used to scare the living daylights out of me....................... the only other jets that I remember that could shatter eardrums at 5 miles were AVRO Vampires - Concorde in afterburn was far quieter. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I can remember seeing the Black Knights at the airshow at Prestwick airport, they were the forerunners to the red arrows and they flew E.E. Lightnings, now that was loud! You can still fly a mach2 Lightning at Thunder City in Capetown SA.

Oh I always did & still do, love the roar from an aircraft in a full afterburner climb out.

Also the noise a 4 or 6 Harriers hovering on the flight line at Biggin Hill, will always stay with me.

Asides from the Vulcan & seeing Concorde depart Heathrow, the other two memorable aircraft I’ve seen in flight are the F-117 Nighthawk, but by far the best experience ever was seeing the B2-Spirit fly at Andrews AFB a few years ago.

What an aircraft, simply awesome !!!

I have worked on the flight line at the Biggen Hill airshow and being up close to the aircraft as they were taxying to the runway and the pilots giving me a nod or a wave before take off will stay with me. I have been on the control tower at an airshow standing beside the Italian comentator as he was describing the Frecce Tricolori go through their routine. Seeing one of their jets do a tail-slide with smoke on was realy spectacular Shocked

Cool job Alicatt Thumbs Up

I used to be a regular visitor to the Biggin Airfare, but it’s been several years since I was there.

All this talk of airshows & aircraft makes me want to attend a show again.

Must look into it & see what I can arrange Cool

I'll miss the local one here at Sanicole airport it is on 6 days after I return to Scotland, missed it last year too. Tomorrow the army is having an "opendoor" day at Leopoldsburgh (where operation Market Garden started from) so I'm taking Opa and the lad there for the day going to try and blag a run in a tank Wink
the last airshow I was at was Fairford, the marketing director of the company I worked for couldn't go so he gave me his VIP ticket, I had a great time and seen the B2 and the FY117 flying in formation with the Red Arrows. Where I live now I'm under the flight line to Kline Brogul airbase and so get to see a lot of F16s flying around and even the occasional sonic boom Thud

Isn't the B2 just the coolest thing to see in the air ???

That must have been quite a sight though, to see both the F-117 & the B2 in formation with the Red Arrows.

You don't by any chance have any pix you could post in your gallery, do you ??

Sadly it was only the F117 with the Arrows, but the B2 did make it's own pass. I have the Arrows and the F117 on video somewhere, I'll dig it out when I get back home.
