Fantastic piece of machinery. 62 in under 5secs I believe, nearly 200mph top speed. I was lucky enough to be behind one at Millbrook recently on the mile-straight as the driver buried his right foot. Impressive to see such an immense car fly off into the distance so easily - and the noise... certainly puts us diesel boys to shame Laughing

Stuff your RS4 Martin. sorry but if I had to exchange my Defender for something else then it would have to be the Aston Martin V8 Vantage that I have just been to see in Edinburgh.
There is no mistake in the first sentence you did read Defender - I would not change my TDv6 for anything except another Sport, doesn't matter which engine but I would prefer a deisel! I would even give up playing offroaders for an AM! It is truely beautiful, pity there is no 4WD version with a green oval on the back (yet!)

Aaahh Tim... if money was NO object I'd be joining your queue. But would have a hard time convincing my wife who hankers after the Bentley GT Cool

Hopefully your wife would treat her GT a lot better than the woman in the next village along from us. Hers is about a year old now and you should see how she parks it. Slams into kerbs, all the alloys are showing some really bad damage. Mad old bat that she is... I have no problem with people having huge amounts of money to throw at cars, but when it's just a waste it does make me mad. Evil or Very Mad

Hi Peter,

Like your thinking - but if I change to the V8 Diesel then the other car would have to be the new Audi RS4...... theres just too many options... my head hurts Crying or Very sad

Shame LR and AM are owned by

them to be still 100% British and
Independent. Why the hell did Rover
allow the Mini to be retained by BMW !!!!!
I loved the Mini, spent many youthfull
years changing clutch's and stripping
engines on the little beast.
Rambling again !! LOL

Hi G
Volkswagon own Bentley and BMW own Rolls Royce.
