2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Now the ML has a super Diesel

ML 420 V8Tdi is tested in What Car? August issue - staggering mid range performance - 5.5sec 0-62 is actually faster than the ML 500 version and 515lbft of torque. They reckon is a rattly old beast that is nowhere near as refined as the ML500 despite returning 25mpg and that it isn't worth paying the £10600 you have to pay for it over the 320Cdi ML. Price is £50695................................ I suppose that is before you add the options to bring it up to the same spec as a TDV8 RRS or even FFRR - £2500 required to make it 4x4 for a start! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

What do you mean 4x4, are they 2x4 or do you mean a low ratio. The D3 beat the ML320, oh and the Q7 and the new X5 yet again in Auto Express and Car (?) Cool

They are a 4x4 but there is an optional extra to provide them with the transfer case to give you a low range option - at least that is the the case on the ML320 when I had a look at them Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

As standard they have a sort of Honda CRV system I believe, it uses a viscous coupling but if you want a proper system to go into the rough stuff them you pay extra to have a low range and diff locks 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The CRV system is a permanent front wheel drive and when traction is lost, and the TC cannot rein it in the power will temporarily shift to 4wd, then back again. You cannot have it as a full on 4x4.

I would be surprised if the ML works the same way........ Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
