floppy drive recovery software

anybody know where I can find some free 3.5" floppy drive recovery software - trying to find some via google is just useless

Fathers company have some old backup 3.5" floppys that they need to access, but all of them are showing as unformated - they need the info off them urgently

If the disks themselves are known to be good (is this the case?) this could be a case of the floppy drive heads being misaligned. Back when 3.5" drives were commonplace, a disk that failed in one drive would often work happily in another. If you have the availability of another drive - try it in that... otherwise, the old favourite Norton Disk Doctor used to work very well for this sort of thing (if you can still get hold of it).

This is probably all a bit academic now anyway given the BH weekend got in the way Wink

Recuva - File RecoveryRecuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!

cheers guys - no joy - although recuva works with removable drives, it doesn't work with the A:\ drive

already tried that software - shows the disks are recoverable, but software is not free - gonna have to buy it
