The only "flat spot" I have noticed is how the TDv8 "flatens" everything. I swear this mutha would make a drive up a 1 in 2 cliff face feel like driving through Holland. Its got so much torque it just never acknowledges hills are there at all |

Reset the system by locking, unlocking, locking & unlocking the car with the key fob. That should sort it out temporarily but them get it booked in for a check. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Tony, pains me to say it but I've had the same fault recently. Seems to come when the car is idling after a long run and when it's hot. The turn off and reset seems to sort it out. I think it may be due to a part overheating.

Mine must be a different problem as I have not used the car for a week and I had only driven it half a mile when it happened |

Sudden loss of power sounds like one of the turbo hoses might have come adrift - you don't recall hearing a high pitched and very short whistle just before this happened do you? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Had a problem like this on "er in doors" merc. It was an air mass sensor valve problem.
