I’m trying to get my head around the settings for the timed climate?

I’ve got a 2010 Autobiography TDV8, which I’ve just activated timed climate through GAP iid.

I’ve got it to come on as far as I can make out at a pre determined time, I heard what was an internal fan come on, no flashing lights on the dash and no smoke or vapour. I was stood outside the car at the time in the car park, and hoped it would work for 30 minutes as planned. I came back to the car after leaving work, to find no increase in temperature as could make out, or any change to the engine temperature gauge?

I’d read on here, that to leave the auto setting on and set the temperature to 23 degrees c.

How does the car know if it’s heat or blown air? I’m guessing the ambient temperature, last night it was 12 degrees c outside.

Can someone walk me through how the system works, as the cars handbook is very non descriptive.

I don’t have the remote for the FBH installed yet, as I was waiting to see how effective the timed heat worked first. I also appreciate it not freezing temperatures outside for the system to work to its full potential or that ot is hot enough to put the blowers on.

Any help would be appreciated.

I use mine regularly, especially as it hasn't been kept in the garage for a few months. I have the remote so don't use the screen to set the heater. I normally just leave the heater controls on their usual settings,, 20 deg on temp and low speed on fan. I'm sure the fan comes on as soon as the heater fires up,, I normally give it 10 mins, when i open the car I can feel it has slightly warmed the cab, I can hear the fan running and the only light flashing is the auto light on the heater control ( which I always have off). As soon as I press the start button the fan shuts down and auto light goes out,, temp gauge on dash never moves until I have actually driven the car for mile or so. 2010 RRS, TDV8

I watched the video from powerful uk, which was very informative!

I might eventually buy the remote start fob, as I have the plug and loom in the boot ready.

Does the fob in the summer activate the blowers to cool the cabin?
