I sat reading the article late last night & thought it looked great - only beacause it resembled the RRS. I know its only an artists impression, but given the information from LR it probably somewhere near the truth?

LR have always said they would push the boundries with limosine like quality & at £100k i'm sure it will be the best out there and far more practical than any Bentley could ever dream of !

Bring it on LR Thumbs Up

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm don't know, from the angle of the pic it looks too much like our beloved Sports but with puffed up wheelarches and a weird roofline. I QUITE like it. I wonder what they are planning for the RRS to differentiate it from FFRR if that is the future? A three door fastback?
I for one will be glad to see the return to aluminium however LR MUST get the anticorrsion/ oxidisation problems sorted. I know several Defender owners who have bought new ones in the last couple of years that are sufffering terrible Aluminium Oxidisation due to electrolysis due to different meatls being in contact. It only takes a few nylon or neoprene washers and grammets to be inserted at construction but LR as so intend on keeping costs down they would rather see cleints cars rot for the sake of about £5 worth or nylon washers and a galvanised chassis. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think might be a teaser for the midlife facelift of an RRS......................................... with an HST rear spoiler to use up the remaining unsold stock. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It can't look like that as it will upset too many RR buyers - it looks like Jeep grand cherokee!

100k is not unreasonable for a top spec model as you could buy a £75000 FFRR S/C now and get get it close to that with autobiography bits Thumbs Up

THE BOSS "That won't be the new RR - Land Rover aren't daft." Shocked

Agreed, but it is my opinion that Ford do not understand what they got hold of with Land Rover especially the success of the Sport. They are quite capable of misguidedly taking the brand off at a tangent by not knowing exactly why we all buy Land Rovers.
Remember this is the company that gave the world the EDSEL and then the reverse the MUSTANG.
Of course the future of the brand depends on Ford not just bleeding the L R design and technology into the US domestic brands and embarking on "marketing " to sell a technically watered down "luxury" Range Rover.
If I have to pay 'near" Bentley prices I will bloody well buy a Bentley and it doesn't matter if it can't go off road because I wouldn't put ANY £100.000 vehicle off road except in combat. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Don't forget the price is as envisaged in 2012.......................... that is a long way in the future, to be predicting a price, look at how the cost of any car range has increased in the last 10 years. Who knows what awful "green" taxes we will have thrown at us in the next 5 years 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

They always have radical designs that don;t make it, look at the Stormer concept for a start!

As a concept I think it looks ok, when the L322 model was being talked about they said they were going to be making it more expensive but they need to keep it real. It's expensive enough, they can't suddenly hike the price up over 100k, they'll be sending their customers into the arms of the competition. L319 D4 HSE

Land Rover has a history of overpricing newly launched models (look at the F2 just now) - by pitching the price high it allows them to sneak up the prices of the existing models and nobody really notices it. Unfortunately it usually all comes tumbling down on the owners when they come to sell after 3 years in the form of severe depreciation as dealers have to sell on the cars at the price the 2nd hand market will pay. Have you noticed also how when LR launch a new model the dealers only have the highest spec cars available for launch.

I bet that next year when lots of the early RRS's hit the forecourts at their 3rd birthday trade-in values will go into free-fall. Look at used FFRR's - I've seen a 4 year old TD6 Vogue with only 50000 miles on it on a main dealer forecourt for £24000 which is a bargain for whoever buys it. One of the Scottish dealers has a 3 year old TD6 Autobiography in one of the special chromaflair colours with the full-on Autobigrapghy spec for sale with 30000 miles and are asking £36000 for it. That car would have cost in excess of £80k purely because of it's paint job 3 years ago!

IMHO Land Rover are starting to stretch their crediblity over pricing, they are going to frighten off a lot of traditional LR owners who have put up with shoddy and 2nd rate products and supported British industry because they felt obliged to, for too many years. Just because they have managed to improve the quality/reliablity in leaps and bounds in the last 3-4 years doesn't mean that they can start charging outrageous prices. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
