Welcome to the forum X5, we have loads of former X5 owners here, and former owners of other sportier BM's. I won't hide anything, yes there have been a handful of people on here who have had problems but the vast majority have never had anything fall off or go wrong. The biggest problem with owning any Land Rover is finding a good dealer to service it.................................. sometimes their attitude can be very offhand and frustrating, but when you find a good'un they are excellent. I am biased as my RRS is my 6th Land Rover product and none have been unreliable and only one has required roadside attention from land Rover Assist. My "fleet" has been Disco 1 V8i ES, Disco2 TD5 (the one that broke down on the way to being traded in and needed rescuing!), Freelander TD4,

S/C RRS over FFRR S/C........................... FFRR is the daddy of them all - it is amazing that such a heavy vehicle can do the things that it can do but you are looking at 12mpg on a good day, horrendous depreciation (RRS isn't much different either in both respects). Dealers seem to have a good selection of both FFRR S/cand RRS S/C as many owners are moving over to the TDv8 instead - it's performance isn't far off the S/C but you still get low 20's mpg on a bad day. FFRR has much better quality interior than RRS (I've owned both an RRS and a FFRR) but the RRS is not bad, and more "sporty" - you feel like you are sitting in it's seats rather than perched on them as you do in the FFRR. You can search dealer stocks of used cars from the Land Rover website

X5, you should type Kahn into the search function and read some of the postings.................. their confections/creations are not universally popular with RRS.co.uk members. But each to their own, if that's what will sell you an RRS then go for it, but believe me they just don't need all the Kahn bits (even the Tdv6!). I think we have a couple of members here who have Kahn converted RRS's and definately one with a Kahn FFRR. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
