Cooler to Fridge upgrade on 2018 facelift model

As title says. Swapped over the passive cooler for the fully fledged refrigerator on my L494.
Had to remove rear climate facia, 4 bolts behind it. Hockey stick trim and two side trims that go up centre console. I also took out the front climate screen but this was not necessary. Then it was a straight swap. Tricky to get cigarette lighter plug off but once done all easy.

Here is a pic of the cooler vs fridge. Cooler only has one setting, both blue leds on or off. Fridge has two settings, one LED, Two LED or off.

Also full fridge is slightly smaller inside to allow for compressor to be located. However fridge went in easier than cooler came out.

Will let you know how it keeps my beer cold

This is good to know, How can you tell the difference from the outside whether its a cooler or fridge ?
Are the buttons or led's different ?

Do you think this could be retro fitted to one without a cooler ?, is the loom/plug there ready to go ?

Its not easy to identify them. They look identical apart from the internal depth. The easiest way is to press the button on the top. If the only options are 2 blue LED's on or all off then you have the cooler. If when you press the button on the top it cycles through one LED, two LED then off then you have the fridge. Also the fridge has a slight vibration that you can feel if you put your hand on the top of the cubby hole lid. Evoque HSE Dynamic

Hi,

Yes it can be retro-fitted.

One of my l494’s arrived without the fridge I specified (and paid for).

The dealer fitted a fridge before handover.
