intake manifold repair issue

Been trying to replace the drivers side intake manifold on my L320 TDV6 3.0 over the weekend & run into numerous issues....

Stripped the air intake, cooling system, ECU, released the EGR valve a little... got the Common rail out, injectors & all the bolts, brackets from the old intake manifold off. Got the really difficult brackets off the back with the double nuts on the bolts for the brackets.

Got the manifold loose and can raise the front above the plastic timing cover no problem. Can't seem to raise the back enough of it enough to get past the chain underneath.

Does anyone know how much needs to be stripped out? There are still 2 steel fuel pipes sitting on the back of the manifold one goes into the back of the common rail, the other goes into the injectors. They aren't helping things - but feel like I need to do more.

Forgot to put the car in service mode so didn't lower the suspension which apparently gives more room in the engine bay at the back. Any ideas how to put it in service mode with the engine disabled?

Any help would be much appreciated - been a horrible weekend - what a horrible job

Lowering the car will not give more room in the engine bay Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.
