Ok - Apologises for simple questions.

L949 - 2013

I need to swap out one of my button sets on my steering wheel (heated steering wheel button permanently lit, still toggles on and off, but hard to tell as the light is always on).

Do I need to remove the airbag first (looks as if I can just remove the paddle and unscrew the button set from behind)

If I do need to remove the airbag - do I have to disconnect the battery first, if so will the car throw up errors on reconnection.
