iNSURANCE QUOTES

Hi All. And Happy New Year !

Is anyone else on here experiencing problems getting their RRS Insured? My '14 plate 5.0 S/C Autobiography has roughly trebled from just under £1000 to £2800. Nothing has changed in terms of details, except the renewal quote. I've spent a whole day on all the comparison sites, they range from cheapest £1800 (with telematics) up to £8000+ And that's with dashcam and tracker!

This is now just getting silly and becoming unaffordable. I've driven Range Rovers all my driving life and because of the insurance, i'm seriously considering not having another, purely because of the insurance.

I bought it in Feb '23, for £30,000, with £6k deposit. It's now being valued at less than £12k. The insurance is decimating the values of the motors. I can't even afford to get rid of it if i wanted to!
My business can afford to cover the payment without issue, but i feel that im being mugged with a rough stick up my Censored

In comparison; My SL 63 AMG is only £85 a month to insure, with every addision the insurance offers, and that's a £50 grand motor??

Has anyone found reasonable (<£1800/yr) insurance, or do I just park it up?

Hi my insurance doubled a couple of years ago due to them all getting pinched. It only went up to £800 but was still a shock when I got the price. My car is a 2015 3L SD V6. I’m with Admiral at the moment and it’s a car on my multi car policy . You could try them……

Admiral were £2400 !! with telematics !!!
These frankly extortionate thieving prices are pushing up the incidences of no insurance driving.
JLR don't deserve the custom or to sell another Range Rover whilst this crap with stealability is still around.

they improved or fixed the issue with ~ 2023+ models I think

They have now been going recalls on older models to sort. (had my 2019 Jag done a few months ago)
30 mins in the workshop

I don't know how far back they intend to go

Last i heard was to MY16
It's really bad PR from JLR. My sons' Audi S4 4.2 Avant is a 57 MY. Went for MOT in December and found it had a recall on it from years back. Audi have honoured it and it went into main dealers to be sorted. No fuss.
THAT is how you sort an issue out without devaluing the brand or customer loyalty.

I've ALWAYS defended Land Rover, no matter what because my alliegance to the brand is unwavering. But to be in a situation where you have spent your hard earned money on something you cannot insure is beyond loyal now. F*****g Livid is a closer response.

JLR are fast becoming the Man United of the car world. Expensive underperformers with bad management decions that affect everyone.

Hi,

When I changed my L494 AB for my L461 D300 AB my insurance company wanted £4350 vice £550 for the L494.

I politely declined and went online (fat Welsh singer)

I got fully comp for £849 (Nov ‘23).

Just had my renewal (Nov ‘24) come through for £733.

I’m retired, have full NCD, we have several cars including three classics, have been an Advanced Driver for 32 yrs and live in a rural location. Car is parked in the drive with “protection”.

Car has a GHOST-2 fitted (for peace of mind) but NOT specified by the insurer.

That IS a decent price. I'm 58, full ncd also and multiple cars, so there doesn't seem to be any difference there. The postcodes make a difference. I'm in Manchester, but not 3x???
One of the stuipd quotes came from the fat singer too. Told them to go compare elsewhere !!

I believe the Insurance industry needs a fundamental reset. It is nothing short of legalised extortion.
There is no justification for a 3 fold increase if nothing else has changed.

Last summer, my insurance company (Dial Direct) quoted me almost £1300.00 for my renewal (£600.00 increase).

I got the best deal from Tesco Bank for only £506.00. That's fully comp, breakdown, upgraded courtesy car, legal cover, personal injury, 2 x key fob cover and protected NCD. I'm 66, male and retired.

I hate the way insurance companies can 'screw' us like this . . . Censored

Last year LV quoted me over £600 for my 2007 TDV8, I went on the fat singer app and Quote me happy ( Aviva ) came back with £255 fully comp ,I am 70 maximum no claims. As long as I am legal that's all I'm interested in now, because I realise full well that the slightest damage to the RRS would result in it being written off although it's totally immaculate.
